A UX Designer.

I'm always eating.

I'm always eating.

How often do you meet people who love getting up to go to work in the mornings?... I am proud to be able to call myself a User Experience (UX) Designer. It has taken me ages to finally find a job that I actually love doing.

I came across UX Design while managing the re-development of an eCommerce website in my previous profession (a Digital Marketing & eCommerce Manager)... and I haven't looked back since...

My office was above the shop floor, so, as you might expect, I had access to a wealth of customer insights. What I enjoyed doing most was to speak to people about their experiences and interactions with our store (both on and offline) and then to ensure their needs were met and any frustrations alleviated. Unknowingly, I was practising the fundamentals of User Experience Design. I found that actually sitting down and talking to people who actually use the product, was the most effective way to design, build and maintain a useful and usable digital product. As obvious as that sounds, this isn't always what designers do, even today! This is what I enjoyed doing most.

I now work at a digital design agency where we take on projects ranging from complex online portals to improving the usability of a single webpage and from designing mobile apps to video game console apps.

What I bring to the table.

My previous experience as a digital marketing & eCommerce manager has provided me with very useful, transferable skills especially in a data driven design. In terms of teamwork, I'm conscientious and adaptable in any given working environment. I'm constantly challenging my understanding of UX methodology and its effectiveness through practice, research and discussion with other designers. Improving my skills and approach in UX methodology process and visual design is ongoing.

I love working in a creative, team environment, solving tough problems with people who share my passion.

Interests & Hobbies

When I'm not in the office, you'll either find me at some fancy art gallery in town (pretending to know what I'm looking at...) or on my bike, scouring the City for inspiring architecture to photograph. I also try to keep myself active, I play tennis (when the sun's out) and have a kick-about most Wednesday evenings. The rest of my time is dedicated to learning tech and developing my UX skills, along with a bit of illustration!
